The kids and I drove up to Zoo America yesterday. We met up with my friend Patti and her family. We had a great day!! The zoo itself was small, but it was free and we got to see some animals we haven't seen before, so well worth the trip. That and the kids like all the animals!
The drive up was okay. I didn't have any problems until we hit Harrisburg, and then we sat for awhile. After all these years you think they would've improved that part of the highway. We sat again once we hit all the lights on 322 to Hershey.
Denver was happy, but Katelynn was not impressed with the traffic!
Parking for the zoo was good, probably because we went on a Tuesday.
The alligators were a favorite!
Of course the sleeping black bear was cool too!
How Katelynn measured up!
Mountain Lion carving. There was a mountain lion right beside this but he was sleeping in his cave.
Hello there!
An albino alligator!
There were 3 wolves that we saw, this guy was pacing back and forth...
then this guy appeared...gave me chills. Glad they had a fence up!
They were talking about a skunk too. The kiddos were fascinated by it. Katelynn's souvenir was a stuffed skunk who she immediately named Lollipop and has been by her side for 2 days now. It even has a special bed in her bed that it sleeps on...with it's own blanket and everything.
A few more animals...these guy was pacing all over the place. We joked that it could smell the peanut butter and jelly sandwich Katelynn started eating in front of him.
What's in that box??
Porcupine.
And the one the kids laughed the most about?!
that's right! A chipmunk. LOL! After Zoo America we drove over to Chocolate World...blog to come!
