We did the Easter Egg "hunt" on base on April 16th and you couldn't have asked for worse weather. It rained and rained and rained. I gave Katelynn three choices for dresses and she chose one with ice cream cones on (it was her cousin Sarah's 3rd birthday dress, and it was super cute). She actually kept her headband on for about an hour too, but it was long gone by the time we headed to the egg hunt.
I didn't get any pictures of Denver and didn't realize that until I was putting this blog together. He stayed in the carrier the entire time because we got into line, did the egg hunt, and left. We didn't even bother trying to get in line for the bunny. Although Crystal and Donnie did - don't they look thrilled?!
They moved the egg hunt indoors and all these people were crammed into the hallways and it was hot and humid and wet - UGH!
Katelynn did better once I got her raincoat off of her...
but she was so tired of "standing" in line...
Regardless of the weather Katelynn had a great time at the actual egg hunt. Chris said when they were pouring the eggs out that Katelynn was shaking in excitement...
Towards the end she was even "fighting" for her eggs (or she was at least protecting the ones she wanted so the other kids couldn't snatch them out of her hands anymore).
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I will blog about Easter weekend next time.

Denver - 3 months
I took Denver into the Pediatrician on Wednesday because he is having all kinds of spit-up issues. It didn't matter what we did he would spit-up - it could be as soon as he was done eating or an hour or two later; he could be doing tummy time or just sleeping; he could smile at you and then spit-up. It was so strange. He's had spit-up issues from day one, but nothing like last week. We switched him over to Similac Sensitive Spit-up and he is still spitting-up, but not nearly as bad. The Pediatrician said if it was reflux or a milk-allergy that it should've shown up before now, but if he gets worse then we need to go back in. Honestly you'd never know anything was wrong. He is "happy" and gaining weight - he's up to 13 lbs, 5 oz (up 2 lbs since his 2 month check-up last month).
Here he is at 10 weeks...
He has started "swatting" at his toys and will lay there and smile at them...
Here he is at 11 weeks...
And at 12 weeks...
Denver is sleeping through the night now too - we lay him down around 7pm and he will sleep until 6am. He is cooing and laughing and usually all smiles. I know he is spoiled and quite the Mamma's boy because every time he smiles and coos at me I melt and give him what ever he wants.
I really can't believe how different two babies can be, and I don't know if it's because he's second and we "know" what we're doing or if it's just because he is such an easy going guy...either way he is a joy to be around.

4 years
April Fool's Day - it's a day that Chris is guaranteed to never forget, or at least he told me that when he picked it for our Wedding Day. This year, 2011, marks 4 years of marriage. It's been going wonderfully, and we have two beautiful children to show for it.
We always say we're going to go to Bob Evans for our Anniversary since that's where Crystal's parents took us on our Wedding day, but this is the first year we've lived somewhere where there is actually one around and neither of us thought about it until after the fact...there is always next year! Instead we went to the Melting Pot. I didn't remember my camera but I did manage to snap a few shots on my phone.
I tried Sangria - it's Crystal's favorite wine, and I now know why! It was very YUMMY!
Chris enjoying the desert...
YUM - chocolate covered strawberries!!
After dinner we went to the movies. It has been so long since we've seen a movie in the theater that we didn't even know what was out. We had to laugh about that because we used to go so often we knew what was coming out and when, but not anymore. Our options were pretty slim - either the Easter bunny movie (I think it was called Hop...and honestly we have enough cartoon watching at home with the kids that it's the last thing we wanted to watch on date night) or the action/war movie Battle LA (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called). We opted for the action/war movie. I had to send my brother a text message afterwards because it felt like we had just sat through a 2 hour Marine recruitment movie. It was good though.
Next year we have BIG plans for our Anniversary - I want to do an Alaskan cruise and Chris is all for it! Now all we have to do is hope that he's not deployed and find someone willing to watch the little ones for an entire week. :)

Denver - 2 month Update
I can't believe it but our little man is 10 weeks old already! We went in last week for his 2 month check up; he is doing great! He weighs: 11 lb, 6 oz. and his length: 23 1/2" He is out of 0-3 size clothing and into size 2 diapers already.
It has been an amazing month for his development. I have never been a fan of the infancy stage, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those first smiles. Nothing melts my heart faster. I tried my best to get some of them on camera...
I hope one of those made you smile! I also brought out the one mat toy that we had for Katelynn. Denver has started swinging his hand at the toys that dangle and Katelynn closely monitors the play activity (she really just waits until I'm not looking and then takes the dangling toys)...
This is by far my favorite one... (notice her shoes? They light up when she walks...I couldn't get her to take them off for 2 days and she won't wear her pink ones anymore).
I tried to get a picture of Denver hitting the toys but they all came out blurry, the above shot of his arm up is the best I could get. He should start grasping the objects soon.
He has started "talking" too. He makes a loud "ack" noise and he loves it when you "ack" back. He turns to the sound of our voices and will often smile when you smile at him. He makes the best Zoolander face...(I had a great one on my phone, but can't seem to locate it now...hmmm...)
This one reminds me of the Austin Power movie...Dr. Evil...
Well that's it for now. He's growing so quickly! Here is a shot of Katelynn taking over Denver's swing and another picture of Denver smiling. Hope you enjoyed the blog!
