Katelynn had her very first dental appointment today. I went first while she watched. She asked them lots of questions and was super excited about it. Then she jumped into the chair and kept telling the assistant that it was her turn.
How many teeth do you have Katelynn? She tried counting them. LOL! Turns out she has 20 teeth, her two year old molars are coming in, and no cavities.
All smiles!
That's her dentist getting ready to clean her teeth. They put the electric toothbrush on her finger so she would know that it didn't hurt. She still jumped, but then she started laughing. She let them do her two front teeth, then the dentist asked if she could do the rest and Katelynn slid down the chair and said, "no, I'm good."
They gave her some things - a pink/purple toothbrush with a panda, toothpaste, a sand timer that lets her know how long to brush her teeth (2 minutes), and a toy (she picked out a hair clip that had a beads and colored hair attached).
She did really well! I was expecting a big meltdown, but there were no tears. In fact, it was the opposite she was very excited and asked a ton of questions. Hopefully this experience will establish a good relationship with her and dentists.
