Dark Clouds at the Beach

Chris told Katelynn that the clouds are going to the ocean to drink water, so for an entire day Katelynn asked to go to the ocean to watch the clouds drink water. Friday afternoon when Chris got home, we piled the kids in the car and drove to Ft Smallwood park. It's not quite the "ocean" but for our purposes it worked just fine.
It was so windy! Katelynn said a few time she couldn't walk! They had a pretty decent playground that we played at for awhile.

 Does it look windy?!?
The kids love to swing together!
Denver was a bit confused when I started swinging...he didn't like it.
We had to do this slide at least a dozen times. He laughed hysterically and loved that Mommy was going down with him.

Katelynn running across the bridge.
We walked back to the car along the "ocean." We watched the waves hit the rocks, walked on "sand," and even got hit in the face with salt water.

One big boat cruised on by...
Walking on sand...
When Katelynn was younger she hated riding on Chris's shoulders, but lately she really enjoys it!
I'm framing this one!
Mommy I can't smile the wind keeps putting my hair in my face...
Another possible framer...

Running to Mommy!
I made it!!!
It was a nice afternoon. After the park we drove to Annapolis (only about 10 miles or so away) and had Red Robin - YUM! Haven't had a burger from there in years, it was very yummy. Denver loved the fries and Katelynn inhaled my Strawberry Lemonade. We walked around the mall and let the kids play in their kid area, then finished the night off with some ice cream. We got home, got the kids to bed, and got up first thing in the morning and drove the kids to the zoo. We are staying as busy as possible to keep our minds from drifting to Vinson, but of course that never fully happens. It was our first time at a park without Vinson in nearly 5 years - bittersweet.
