Well if you don't know by now, Chris is home!!! We picked him up at the airport on Thursday. Katelynn fell asleep on the way there, so by the time she opened her eyes Chris was already in the car. Talk about a big smile and one happy little girl.
It's pretty safe to say that both kiddos clung to their daddy all day...even Denver. I wasn't sure how he was going to react, but he did really well, and is still doing really well with his Daddy. It's almost as if he'd never left.
These are from when we first got back to the house.
Then Katelynn took Daddy outside to see her new toys. And even managed to talk him into pushing her up and down the hill in her car...
Nothing like a little workout on his first day back...
Can you tell he didn't cut his hair in 6 months??! I've never seen it this long, but I liked it! He got his military cut back on Saturday.
After playing outside it was time to open presents!
Cool turtle!
Pretty scarf/dresses
A necklace
On Friday Katelynn showed her Daddy how to fingerpaint...
And the last thing you do Daddy is rub it all over your face...
It was a wonderful weekend! The kiddos (and of course me too) were so happy to have Chris home. We hung out at the house just getting reacquainted. Stew and Michaela came by on Saturday and Barb and Travis came by on Sunday.
Sunday evening was a bit rough for us because our bodies were starting to register the stress and such of it all. We both just felt exhausted. On top of it both kiddos had the sniffles, Denver got suctioned and slept really well, Katelynn on the other hand had a rough night. Today is Monday and it's back to work for Chris. He is on stand-down for the next 2 weeks though so other then today he will be home for quite some time. I'm looking forward to our fun little adventures...once everyone gets healthy again.
