Moving Time

The time has finally arrived for us to depart Denver, CO. The packers came for 2 days in a row, and we were pleasantly surprised with how well Katelynn did during this time. I thought she would cry a lot when the movers were taking her toys, but she actually behaved great. She played with empty boxes and ran around the house. The only thing she didn't do was nap, but managed to not be cranky so all was well.
This is how we lived for almost 3 days...

Then the movers showed up and within a matter of hours had all of our household items on the truck. We lived out of boxes and in a house that looked like this for a week...
I'm still very impressed with how well Katelynn handled the entire situation. It was Vinson who didn't do so well. We kept the futon mattress and slept on that for the week, Katelynn slept in her pack 'n play, and Vinson was determined to sleep on the futon mattress with us - which was quite a site I'm sure...a pregnant lady, a dog with a cone on his head, and an unhappy husband curled into a ball on a barely full size mattress. We were very happy to finally be in a hotel so we could have a bed and Vinson could have a bed - LOL.
Before leaving Denver we had to go by the Bronco's stadium so Chris could take some photos and say good-bye.

My poor hubby looks so sad to be leaving his home state.
It took us 4 days to drive across the country. Katelynn did better with the move then she did the road trip. It was 4 days of constant stops and lots of crying and screaming.
We stopped at a yummy bar-b-que shop in Knoxville, TN. Katelynn loved the corn on the cob!
We stopped in Clarksville, VA (my parents town) for some pizza to help kill some time before arriving at Mom and Dad's (Mom works 3rd shift and wakes up at 8pm, we hit Clarksville around 7pm and didn't want to make noise at the house so we just stopped for a late dinner).
It was a long two weeks of moving and traveling. It's been great seeing my parents and being able to relax for a little bit. We got some good news earlier this week and we might be able to move into base housing as early as the Monday the 29th. We are headed up to the base tomorrow to look at two places they have available. One is a duplex available on the 29th and one is part of 4 houses connected (with a garage) available on the 6th. Both houses have fenced yards, but the one available on the 29th is in a cul-de-sac and the one on the 6th is along the main road. We will look at them both tomorrow and see which one will work best for us. I'm hoping the one that opens up on Monday is nice because then we can be in sooner. I will keep everyone posted.
