Following the hot air balloon launch and pancake breakfast was the Corn Roast Festival Parade and actual festival. We headed into town and found a spot to watch the parade. Hope you enjoy the pics!
Working our way to a good spot...
We found a nice little spot under an apple tree.
And the cute little boy that talked to us through the entire parade! :)
And then it started...
She loved the bands!
Chris's favorite car!
Katelynn's favorite float...
She liked the horses too. Todd decided he didn't though and he decided to growl at them. LOL.
Ronald McDonald waved right at her!
Another one of Chris's favorites - Ice Hockey!
The "corn dog"...
One for Dad...better known as Pap-pap these days. :)
This man was in a bathtub!
And there was a girl in the outhouse!! We still don't know what their float was for...LOL.
This nice lady gave Katelynn a rubber ducky!
Katelynn started clapping when she saw the life-sized chicken!!
Chris got excited for this car too!
This car didn't even make it to the parade...
This bear holding the ear of corn was pretty cool!
Katelynn clapped and said "vroom" when these guys came by us...
This guy was pretty friendly...
uh-oh...clowns! :)
And then it was over...
This was the dogs during the parade...
After the parade we headed to the festival to partake in the activities!! We walked through the vendors, and stopped to get some "sweet" tea. It was awesome! It tasted like regular tea with lemon...not overly sweet. Just right!
Chris wanted to try roasted corn, so while he watched the dogs and Katelynn I went and got us some.
Chris eating his corn...
Katelynn trying to help him...
Me enjoying the corn!
Katelynn helping herself to our "sweet" tea...
We liked the corn so much we bought two dozen and brought them home (in fact we grilled them on the grill last night - they were yummy! All the leftovers are now sitting in my freezer!!!). :)
Here are some shots of what the festival looked like...
Chris took the dogs down to the water to let them cool off before the trip home...
Believe it or not they were dry by the time we got to the car. It was in the 90's all morning.
Here are a few shots of Katelynn entertaining herself in the car on the way home. I was hoping she'd nap, but she refused to. So not only was she up 2 hours early, but she didn't nap. Sunday was a long day (but totally worth it)!
I had visions of it launching and hitting Chris in the head (no such luck - LOL!).
Next blog will be on our little adventure we made on Sunday. :)
