A Week at Nana and Pap-pap's House

We stayed with my parents for 8 days before heading up to our new place at Ft. Meade. It just happened to coincide with Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful visit and got spoiled with a being able to sleep in an actual bed and eat home cooked meals.
Katelynn LOVED being out of the car and playing with Nana who had the entire week off. Even her Aunt Barby came down to hang out for a few days. The only people missing were her Uncle Stew (who was celebrating Thanksgiving with Michaela's family) and Pap-pap (who had just started a new job and was on the road).
One of Katelynn's favorite things to do this week was help feed the chick-chicks!! She got to ride around with Nana on "Peppy." In fact every time we went outside she'd cry for "Peppy!" Her Nana had attached a bell to Peppy and the chiming and being able to honk the horn just made her day.

She got lots of rides on "Peppy" since it was used practically every day we were there (of course her Daddy would find many fun reasons to take her for rides too).
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her with the "kitties." Mom and Dad have 2 cats and 2 kittens (they got a cat from the SPCA that was fixed, but had a batch of kittens shortly after arriving...interesting indeed). Anyway, every morning Katelynn got to go outside and help feed the "kitties." She LOVED them and would chase them around meowing. Too cute!
Nana had lots of fun things around the house for Katelynn to get into trouble playing with, but her favorite thing to do was walk around in Nana's outside shoes.

We didn't  have tv for almost 6 months, and even before that we rarely watched it, so it was a real treat for Katelynn to be around a "television." It didn't hold her attention for long, but she did LOVE dancing with all the people during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Of course as Aunt Barby and Nana quickly found out once you start dancing you can't stop!

We had a wonderful time visiting family. It felt very surreal. We, or rather I, kept thinking that any day now we need to leave for CO. After 3 weeks I still don't think it's quite hit that I am going to be close to family and friends for a few years. The next blog will be on our little celebration of Katelynn's 2nd Birthday!
